When hunting parents choose a baby nursery theme, rustic is the style of choice. These outdoors-y moms and dads pour their hearts, their soul and a lot of creativity into decorating a room where they can share their love of the sport with their little one.

I base this statement on the couple whose handiwork you are about to see. They are not only excellent hunters but also talented enough to know how to make hunting themed decorations as well as a crib using deer horns and wood gathered from where they hunt.

Using a combination of hunter's camo, deer horns and rustic wood, Adrienne and her husband created a unique room with a crib so natural that looks as if it could have grown right up from the forest floor.

I'm certain that it will not be long before this little hunter will be putting his own trophy on display.


Adrienne got the idea for making the wall letters out of deer horns from some letters that she saw at Hobby Lobby. She showed her husband what she had in mind and he just figured the design out in his head and made them! How many of you wish that your dear husband was a crafty, DIY er like hers?


Adrienne is great at crafts, too! She put this newborn picture of Jace on a slice of wood to display on the nursery wall right below his name.





The background, the camouflage photo props, the crochet hat and diaper cover and the compound bow in the foreground; this is the perfect first portrait for a future hunter.



Mom also designed the camo crib set and much of the nursery's decor.





The baby's bedding, nursery curtains and the rocking chair cushions were all custom made using Mossy oak breakup fabric.


One of the few decorations in the space that was not homemade will touch the heart of everyone that has respect for the sport of hunting as this family clearly does.
