What Type of Bolts Are Needed To Assemble a Simplicity Crib

Could someone please post what type of bolts are needed to assemble a Simplicity Crib with a baby changing table attachment on the side? I am missing parts and would like to buy replacements if possible.

If anyone has any suggestions on where I might find a diagram that I could carry to the hardware store to be sure that I'm getting the correct parts, please contact me using the comments area below (and PLEASE include your contact information in case I need to get in touch with you!).

What Kind of Bolts to Use For a Simplicity Crib
by: Anonymous

Missing hardware is a common issue with Simplicity cribs, especially models that included an attached changing table.

For most Simplicity cribs, the bolts used to assemble the crib frame and changing table attachment are standard furniture bolts, not proprietary fasteners. Typically, this includes metric bolts paired with barrel nuts (cross dowels), though the exact length and thread size can vary by model. Because Simplicity produced many variations over the years, there isn’t one universal bolt set that works for every crib.

If any original bolts or barrel nuts are still attached to your crib, the safest approach is to remove one and use it as a reference. Measure the bolt diameter, length, thread type, and head style, and note the size of the barrel nut it threads into. That information will allow you to match the hardware accurately at a hardware store or through a crib hardware replacement kit.

If all of the hardware is missing, a universal crib hardware kit can sometimes work, but only if each piece matches the original dimensions closely and tightens securely with no movement in the frame. The crib should not be assembled or used unless all bolts fit correctly and the structure is completely rigid once tightened.

This page exists to help with identification and general guidance only. Because safety depends heavily on correct hardware fit, I recommend confirming measurements carefully before purchasing replacements. If you’re able to share the crib’s model number or measurements through the comments, I can help point out what to check before you buy anything.
