Storkcraft Drop Side Crib Replacement Parts

I have an old drop side crib that was my little baby brothers that I am trying to restore for my parents to put back in his old room. They are kind of making a memorial to their son that died at age 15. I realize that their wish to do this isn't necessarily healthy but whatever brings them peace works for me and I am willing to help.

The kick bar on this crib is broken and due to that broke part the side won't stay up, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a replacement for the broken kick bar.

I know that drop side cribs are illegal to use for babies but this one will not be used for sleeping. It will just be used to hold the baby items that were my brother's before he died.

I would appreciate any information as to where I might order the Storkcraft Drop Side Crib Replacement Parts I need for this memorial display for my brother.

First, I would like to offer my condolences to you and your parents on the loss of your brother. It is devastating to lose a child at any age and the grief is never ending which is most likely the reason for their plans for the memorial display that you are seeking parts to complete.

You are correct that it is illegal to sell parts for drop side cribs as their sale and/or use is forbidden.

For that reason, I would advise that even though the crib will not be used for an actual baby that you look for a crib stabilizer kit rather than a kick plate.

I just found this video that talks about how to convert a dropside Storkcraft crib to a fixed side. Use your own judgement and proceed at your own risk, of course.

You may have an easier time locating the conversion clips that the video recommends than a replacement for your missing kick plate.

The fewer of those old drop side cribs that are still in existence, the better! Nobody should be using those cribs and take the risk that might cause them to lose a child.
