Rockin' Robots and Rockets Baby Nursery Art
We chose a Robots and Rockets Baby Nursery Theme because my husband is Computer and Electrical Engineer and he wanted to incorporate his love of science and electronics into a fun nursery design.
Go Here to See MoreInitially, I said "NO WAY", until I found all of these cute "baby-friendly" robots. I didn't want any SCARY robots for my baby so these were perfect for several of the
boy nursery themes we were considering!
We wanted to decorated the nursery in such a way that was modern, warm and capable of growing with our child through the years. The black frames of the framed artwork and furniture against the green walls give the baby's room a clean modern look. The woodpaneled portion of the wall gave the space more of a traditional feel.
Robots and Rockets Baby Nursery Theme Wall DecorationsThe artwork that we hung above the changing table is by John W. Golden and was purchased online through his personal website even though we originally found his work though Land of Nod. I liked that the pictures fit our theme and was appropriate for a child's room.
NURSERY WALL PAINT IDEASFirst, my husband painted the whole room with an Olympic paint color called "Quaking Grass" that we purchased from Home Depot and then he installed bead board paneling and a wooden chair rail from Lowes.
NURSERY FURNITUREThe crib is a 5-in-1 convertible crib and both the ebony dresser and crib are from the Delta SoHo nursery furniture collection. The rocker/ glider is the Madison Deluxe Glider with an ebony finish with a beige microfiber rocker cushion that we ordered from Target online.
THE ROBOT and ROCKET RUGThe rug (Momeni Lil Mo Steel Blue Accent Rug) tied into the robots and rocket ships decor and was purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond.
ROCKETS ROBOTS BEDDINGThe rocket ship baby bedding is a collection from Dwell Studio and we found a matching Boppy cover at Target.
HOMEMADE ROBOT BABY QUILTThe Robot crib quilt was made by my mother-in-law using a fabric panel (Cogsmo Robot Panel Aqua/Teal) that was purchased from fabric.com.
Robots and Rockets Baby Nursery Theme Wall Decorations I made the baby name letters above the crib using pre-cut wooden letters from Hobby Lobby and covered them with robot, rocket ship and gear scrapbook paper.
The vinyl wall art ("little inventor") came from Uppercase Living. The light switch cover was a custom request fulfilled by primitiveartdeco on Etsy.com. She even makes matching painted ceiling fan blades!
We found other embellishments, such as the robot wall stickers and a rocket ship night light At Target. And we found the robots and rocket ships with ribbons run through them to decorate the door handles on the nursery closet at Hobby Lobby.
We had so much fun decorating our robots and Rockets baby nursery theme! In the beginning of the project I thought my husband was a huge geek, but our friends and family enjoyed hunting down unique items to buy by for us to use in decorating our nursery. Our baby boy is now 5 months old and is starting to enjoy discovering all the hidden treasures in his nursery.
