Pink Rainforest Baby Nursery Theme - Small Room on a Budget

Small pink baby girls rainforest nursery theme design and decorating ideas.
My baby girl's pink rainforest baby nursery theme was designed to be functional in a very small space and all decorative items including the bedding were purchased on a very limited budget.
And as you can see from the pictures of my daughter's room, you can still decorate a cute nursery on a small budget and in a small space.

I live in a 500 square foot, one bedroom apartment. Even with the limited space, I still wanted to give my daughter a nursery area that was made just for her but I just didn’t have a lot of money to spend on it. The pretty, pink and green rainforest
baby girl's nursery themeis what I have come up with. I think that the layout came out very nicely and Ihope that other moms that need a blueprint for a small nursery are able to take some ideas from it to use in their own project!
The size of the area where my rainforest baby nursery theme would be located was very tight. To be specific, my daughter’s nursery wall is 56 inches wide with a standard 8 foot ceiling.
First of all I found a portable crib and mattress on craigslist for $50. It is the perfect height to also use as a changing table.
I found the rainforest baby bedding set at TJ Maxx for $29.99 and made the necessary adjustments so that it would safely fit the portable crib mattress. However, I did use portable crib sheets not the sheet that came with the rainforest crib set. You can get sheets for a portable crib at Ross for $2.99.
I picked unfinished, wooden wall letters at Michael’s for $1.19 each. I painted each one of them black and attached small nylon butterflies to two of them to reflect the rainforest theme.
Then I made my own hanging, rainforest baby mobile. It is a ceiling butterfly mobile that moves gently when the fan is on. I purchased all the nylon butterflies and flowers that I used to decorate the wall letters and crib mobile at Hobby Lobby during a sale and spent under $5.00.
I hand painted the
palm tree wall decorations, the pink elephant and the turtle for the
rainforest baby nursery theme wall mural myself using craft paint from Michael’s. I bought the paint at a discount while it was on sale and spent in total, $3.50 for the paint and brushes that I used.
For storage, I attached two canvas cubes found at Ross for $2.99 to the wall and a corner shelf which came in a five piece set at Big Lots for $10. The smaller cube holds the baby's diapers and wipes. The shelf holds her powder, butt paste, and hand sanitizer. In the larger cube, I store all her infant sleepers and onesies so everything is arranged close together.
The open area of the wall that you see next to the diapers is where I am going to put an 8 x 10 portait of my daughter and myself when she is born. The area above the letters that spell her name will eventually be decorated with going black 5 x 7 picture frames with pictures of the baby from the age of newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year.
For everything in my daughter’s nursery wall area expect the diapers, wipes, clothes, powder, butt paste, and hand sanitizer I spent under $140.
Remember, the area that encloses my baby girl's pink rainforest baby nursery theme is just 56" wide.
Thank you,
Debra
