Addison's Nursery Wall Painted in Pink Stripes

I had so much fun dreaming about decorating a pretty pink baby room for Addison. The daydreaming part was easy and the planning went quickly but the actual work took more than I imagined.

As challenging as it was, I love everything about my sweet baby girl's nursery especially now that it's completed.

When I found out that I was having a girl I confess that I went just a little bit crazy for pink.

Then I painted the nursery walls in wide, tone on tone pale pink stripes. For decorations I painted wooden wall letters spelling out her name (Addison) and arranged them on the walls using satin ribbon tied in bows.

I got awesome deals on all of my nursery furniture on craigslist. I bought a changing table and dresser that I refinished in white and then added vintage glass handles alternating the drawer pulls in clear and pink glass. The vintage furniture hardware was my big spending splurge out of everything I bought to decorate the pink baby room.

A white Jenny Lind crib adds to the vintage look in the room. Rather than buying a nursery rocking chair I bought an upholstered white chaise lounge that gives me a cozy place to lie down.

To add another layer to the color scheme of Addison's pink baby room, my mom made some beautiful pink and sage green stripe curtains with a white balloon shade underneath. The baby's bedding set is made from pink, green, yellow and red damask fabric. It is understated but colorful bringing even more color into the room.

I hung a crib mobile decorated with felt pink and green birds above the baby's bed. I topped off the rest of the decorations that I had gathered for my sweet baby girl's pink baby room with hand painted pictures of birds in pink, green, and yellow and some homemade dolls that my grandmother made me when I was little arranged on wall shelves. And as the last but not least of my tips that I have to share with Unique Baby Gear Ideas is that I made a sweet bow holder out of ribbon to hold Addison's barrettes and hair bows.

Painted wall letters
by: Denise

Did you cut out your own wooden wall letters to spell the baby's name or did you buy them? If they were a DIY project could you please direct me to a printable pattern online so that I can trace the letters onto some wood and have my husband cut them out for me?
