Pink and Brown Baby Girl Nursery Theme Decor
When we saw a picture of a baby girl's nursery with pink and brown nursery decor, striped walls (that I adored) and a Restoration Hardware Baby & Child's crib bedding; I was in love.
The ultimate goal for our daughter's nursery was for it to have a modern feel with some tasteful vintage touches.
If you are new to all of this like we were and want to know how to decorate a baby's room in a pink and brown color scheme like ours; we have a step by step description of how we accomplished the design.

First, we painted the nursery using Benjamin Moore Natura: (Ribbon Pink), Lychee (cream), and French Press (chocolate brown). It took my husband 40 hours to paint the nursery!
He first painted the entire room with a base coat of cream. Using a laser-level and painter's tape he drew outlines for 6" stripes on three walls which he painted chocolate. Finally he painted the fourth wall (where the crib is) in pink laying the groundwork for the pink and white nursery decor yet to come.
Step 2 - Buying the Furniture
Our nursery furniture came from the Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Marlowe Collection. The glider is by Best, found at USA Baby. The bookshelf came from Target and the closet dresser from Ikea.
We added the Restoration (are you seeing the trend?) Hardware European dot mattelasse bumper and Italian contrast stripe crib sheet bedding set. The throw on the crib that matches the pink and brown baby bedding set is also from Restoration Hardware. My mother-in-law made the crib skirt to give it a unique, personalized touch.
Most of the remaining decorations, including the window treatments, chandelier and round frames are all from Restoration Hardware except for the vintage Barbie prints and the floor lamp that came from Pottery Barn Baby. My mother-in-law made the "A" initial pillow.
We have all the baby goodies arranged in the closet, bookshelf, and basket but I think before we're done that she'll need a bigger closet!
With the painting, the crib and bookshelf construction and decorating, all in all the entire pink and brown nursery decor took about 70 hours. I feel that it was all well worth it (easy for me to say because I didn't so much as pick up a paint brush!). The pink and brown nursery wall stripes are my favorite part and my husband is beaming with pride.
My father-in-law helped my husband install the nursery chandelier but we managed everything else ourselves which, although labor intensive, makes it more enjoyable and a better story to share with our baby girl later on.
I love that the pink and brown nursery decor that we created for our daughter is a labor-of-love!
