The colors for our son's monkey themed nursery were based on the Bebe Star Monkeying Around baby bedding set. The blue and green nursery bedding is perfect for a baby boy's monkey theme room!


We knew that we wanted a monkey theme because it was my daughter's favorite. We agreed to let her choose the nursery decor to make her feel a part of things.

 She is only three years old and when I first announced my pregnancy she wasn't all that excited.



Baby Boy Nursery Pictures






To say that she was not exactly overjoyed when she heard the news that a bouncing baby boy would be joining our family would be an understatement.

When time came to start decorating our baby boy's nursery we took her with us to the store to look at crib sets and it was clear from the very beginning that we would be looking for decorating ideas for a monkey theme because every set of crib bedding that she liked had monkey print fabric.

The colors of the Curious George baby bedding and the Sock Monkey baby bedding sets were cute, but had way too many bright colors. That much red was not appealing to me. When we found the discontinued Monkeying Around crib bedding set by Bebe Star on the sale table I knew that it was perfect. I loved the soft shades of green and blue with just a touch of red and most important; the picture of the baby monkey swinging in the hammock between two palm trees on the crib quilt made my daughter giggle.

We weren't able to buy all of the matching Monkeying Around nursery accessories because they didn't make it to the closeout sale, but our baby boy's monkey themed nursery turned out great.

This monkey rug is beside his baby bed and even though it wasn't an exact match, we used this shower curtain in the bathroom that is just off the nursery that looks great with our funky monkey theme.
