Lime Green and Black Airplane Baby Nursery Theme

We chose a modern airplane nursery theme for our baby girl because my husband is a pilot and we both love planes of all kinds. We think that our daughter will eventually love flying, too!

The baby bedding that we used in our Airplane theme nursery is a lime green, black and white crib set, Harlow by Cocalo.

The quilt and bumper of the crib bedding has a large damask design that is repeated, although in a smaller pattern, on the curtain panels that are topped by a green window valance.

The black and green color scheme of the bedding is repeated in the wall paint color (called asparagus by Behr), the furniture and the decorations in the baby's room.



Baby Nursery Pictures





One of the most eye-catching features of the room is the large, airplane wall decal positioned diagonally over the baby's changing table. We found the airplane decals on etsy and had them custom cut to match the size of the walls.

A comment was made that the lamp's light gives the impression of a jet plane flying in front of the sun and the room does have an airy, spacious feel.

The baby's dresser was built by my dad for me when I was three years old. We re-stained it and and bought new handles to give it a more modern look.

We found the vintage crib mobile on ebay and it is from the 1960's.

We found both the nursery chair and rug at Target.


As you can see from the pictures of the room as well as most of our decorations focus on airplanes even though there was no airplane baby bedding set for baby girls that worked for us. To complete the airplane nursery theme there are model airplanes and airplane themed art on display as well as decorative items that are as colorful as they are functional in our modern nursery.

Why should planes only be for a baby boy's room? There are many, many female pilots flying the friendly skies and it is nice to see parents that want their daughter to have the opportunity to do so if she so chooses.

We are still unsure what we are having but both my husband and I are flyers. We wanted that incorporated into the baby's room. We have flight pictures that will be in a framed collage on the wall, so the baby sees and feels connected with mom and dad. Thanks for showing that it can be a little girls room too!!!
