Decorating Madelyn's pink and green nursery was so much fun, a labor of love. Our precious baby girl's nursery features many different decorative patterns including stripes, polka dots and various vintage fabrics.


The project has a slight Parisian influence that came from our love of the "Madeline" series of books.

Ideas for the color scheme and atmosphere of Madelyn's room were taken from the cover of what is sure to be a favorite storybook even though the heroine of the book spells her name differently than the our daughter.

WALL DECORATIONS

In one of the the pink and green nursery pictures you will see that over the changing table there is a wall arrangement consisting of wooden embroidery hoops with various vintage print fabrics inside that were chosen to coordinate with the black and white polka dot drawer pulls.

Her name is spelled out in wooden letters over the baby bed surrounded with fabric flowers in pink and white, yellow and baby blue.

And one of the most practical pink nursery ideas that we had is the pink and white wall shelf has a large, painted wooden letter "M" (for Madelyn) hanging by a cord from one of the pegs that will probably do double duty at some point as a clothes or jacket peg. Decorations include a giraffe figurine, a pink and white striped purse and a pretty keepsake box.

NURSERY DECOR

The butterfly baby mobile that is attached to the ceiling over her bed is sure to catch her eye as the butterflies flutter with every passing breeze.


STORAGE

The house shaped shelves hold a variety of storybooks and stuffed toys as well as a pair of storage bins that are sure to come in handy for holding small toys.

FURNITURE

The comfortable nursery chair is ready and waiting for us to settle in, choose a book and relax.

This baby girl's mom did a wonderful job on the crafts and everything else in this room! There are so many pretty things here and I love the reference to the book which is one of my all-time favorites.
