We chose the name Lilian Elizabeth, both family names for our baby girl. Both the maternal and paternal grandmothers are named Lilian, and Elizabeth is a middle name that has been passed down through the generations on the maternal side of the family.

Lilian is a variation of the spelling of Lillian, a popular baby girl's name of English origin. The source of the English name, Lillian, is the Lily a flower that is a symbol of purity, beauty and innocence.

The name Elizabeth is another English baby girl's name and it's popularity spans centuries perhaps due to its uplifting meaning "My God is bountiful and God of plenty".

If you recall, John the Baptist's mother was named Elizabeth. This name is popular with the English royal family and is known as one of the most frequently used names in England.

Our daughter is named Lillian Mariah. We call her Lilly or Riyah for short. I chose these girls' names for several reasons. Before we got the news that we were having a baby girl I daydreamed about calling her Lillian as well as several other middle names but nothing seemed to fit like Lillian Mariah.

Lillian sounds so sweet and pure just like its meaning(s) plus you don't see a lot of baby girls name Lillian. Easter lilies are my favorite flowers and I love to feel the wind in my hair so that's why I used Mariah as her middle name.

My baby girl's name is Lillian Chere' and she is adorable. We combined an old fashioned name with a sophisticated middle name and it is a perfect match for her personality. The meaning of the name Lillian is based on the symbolism of the purity of the Lily and she is our precious innocent flower.

The name is a sweet baby girl's name but it makes me think of the character in Rugrats. Even with this mental connection I think it's a very pretty name either for a first or a middle name. I like it well enough that I included it on my list of possibilities because the nicknames for Lilian are very attractive such as "Lily" or something sassy like "Lil".
