I Love a Bird Nursery Theme
by Jan
Bird Theme Baby Nursery with many homemade items made with love by mom, dad and many other special friends and family members.
I love a bird nursery theme and this "Birds and Branches" themed room decorated for a baby boy is my current favorite. What I find most appealing about this design is that practically every item we see in the following gallery of baby boy nursery pictures was handmade with the help of family members and friends. The love that went into decorating this room really shines.
The colorful baby bird mobile that is suspended from the ceiling using lengths of blue, satin ribbon was made with vibrantly patterned fabric, a rustic, twig wreath and invisible, nylon fishing line.
We see the same fabric that was used to make the stuffed, bird shapes that decorate the mobile reflected in the pattern of the baby's crib quilt.

Amy's Aunt Ruth made the bird baby quilt using leftover fabric scraps from the nursery curtains and other sewing projects.
Why, oh why couldn't I have a quilter in my family that does work like this? I wonder if Aunt Ruth would be willing to adopt me.
The nursery wall decals feature silhouettes of birds perched on delicate, swirling branches in direct contrast with the crisp, stripes of the curtain panels.
In addition to the vertical display of the tree wall decal in black, there is a horizontal arrangement of DIY art in shades of lime green and blue.
This playful trio was created from plain, white artist's canvases, crafts paint and fabric cutouts applied with spray glue.
The wooden rocking horse, made by dad for his son, is sure to become a treasured family heirloom. I wonder if he would be willing to share his woodworking pattern...
Speaking of family treasures; this wooden rocking chair was used to rock Justin’s daddy to sleep when he was a baby.
The pretty pillow was made by one grandmother and the lap blanket handmade by the other.
The chocolate brown lamp shade of the table lamp was embellished with a bird shaped fabric cutout matching the wooden base that has been painted a cheerful bright green color.
And the Bible verse on the wall says it best..
