The first items we bought for Baby Cole's Hawaiian baby nursery theme were colorful, hand painted geckos that we spotted in a tiny shop when we was in Hawaii taking an island vacation.
I was not pregnant when we found them but in the back of my mind I just knew that someday they would be used to decorate our baby's nursery.
Slowly, over the next couple of years during our yearly visits to Hawaii we bought many different items that we used to create a gecko and surfboard themed nursery including the the tropical print fabric that my mom used to make the crib set.

She used blue and white floral print fabric to make the baby bedding.
The quilt is so cute with its big tropical flowers. There are also tropical fish appliquéd on the crib bumper pad.
We also gathered the surfboard wall decorations that are displayed on the wall behind the crib on our vacations.

Hawaiian baby rooms are one of my favorites and this is the first one that features geckos. HOW CUTE! The hibiscus prints and surfboards in combination are just perfect for Baby Cole's very own, personal tropical island paradise.
