Funky Baby Nursery

Greta's Funky Baby Nursery with Owl Decorations
My wife and I are very artistic, so we knew that we wanted to design our own fun, funky baby nursery for our baby girl. When it came time to decorate the baby's room rather than buying decorations and a matching crib set we bought handmade items that are original and one-of-a-kind. Finding just the right pieces took some time but we found the process very enjoyable.
We chose very basic furniture so that it wouldn't draw attention away from the decor. The furnishings we bought can be used for a while, and seeing as we live in an apartment, we looked for items that were scaled to size (read: small).

We shopped around until we decided that the Baby Miro Modo line by DaVinci with its modernist Japanese look was perfect for the space. It was available at several sites online but we purchased ours at Albeebaby.com. They offered free shipping and excellent customer service, so we were very happy!
The lamp is from Ikea and I think ran something like $40. The frames over the changing table in our funky baby nursery were purchased at Michael's using their weekly 40 and 50% off coupons. To save money, we bought one frame a week over a period of time. Cool, huh?
The artwork in the frames is from two local L.A. based artists. The first one is by Shag and is a print of Disneyland's Main Street from his Disneyland 50th Anniversary Collection. We actually bought it a few years back in preparation for the big day! The other two prints are by artist Brigette B. and can be purchased at her Etsy storefront at: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5239911
The baby's crib bedding set is from the Pottery Barn Kids Brooke collection as are the pillows, stuffed owls and guitar. The swan baby mobile is also from Pottery Barn Kids.
And finally the colorful flashcards hanging over the crib are by Paul Frank and I mounted them to the wall with tacky poster gum.
My wife and I wanted a funky baby nursery and I think we got it...hope you guys dig it!

I loved all your creative ideas. They are bright and cheery and I like that the theme is completely ageless. It's a fresh new look and I like the crib bed combo idea. I will definitely recommend it to my friends that are expecting.

This has got to be one of the funkiest, cutest, artsiest nurseries I've seen in a long time. Love those flash cards, too. Where did you get them?

Comment: This is really nice, especially for a small space such as an apartment. I love the bright colors against the dark wood. Lucky baby!

How cute! Can I get a resource for the flash cards that I see on the walls?
