The Amy Michelle Lotus diaper bag is SO beautiful and functional!
This is my second Amy Michelle diaper bag review and giveaway that I have had the honor of hosting. I loved the Eco tote baby bag that I had the privilege of reviewing the first go round but and it still has a place in my stash of bags, but I must say that I’m knocked out by the Lotus that I’m reviewing today.
I can see where the Lotus and I are going to have a very long relationship…long past the time that I have a need to haul diapers, pacifiers, formula and extra outfits just in case there’s a need for a quick clothing change. This bag is so beautifully styled, has more organizational possibilities than any purse I’ve ever owned yet isn’t so feminine that if I need a helping hand a man wouldn’t feel odd picking it up to carry it for me for just a minute.
It’s not a daddy diaper bag by any means, but it’s black, sophisticated and not cutesy. Taking inventory of the contents of my closet, every outfit from business to casual that I wear on a regular basis, would look magnificent with this bag. How nice not to have to stop and transfer the contents of both handbag and diaper bag every time I leave the house just to look "put together".
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE AMY MICHELLE LOTUS DIAPER BAGTo start with, I can’t say enough about this bag’s good looks. In my pre-mommy days, I was a designer handbag fan and leather was my material of choice. I loved the smell and the appearance of high quality cowhide. That’s all fine and good when all you have to pack is your wallet, , cell phone, keys and an emergency makeup kit with a compact, lipstick and a comb. When packing for babies, the load gets heavier PLUS you still need the abovementioned necessities which makes the weight of a leather purse prohibitive. My aching shoulders and back make the weight of the empty bag a determining factor in my ratings and the Lotus ranks highly for being lightweight yet roomy.
It will handle not only my necessities but my digital camera, an extra lens or my iPad, a couple of cloth diapers, a clothing change without so much as a bulge no problem. To prevent you from having to dig for your keys or a soother, the Lotus features a hook for your keys as well as a quick release pacifier holder. The baby’s bottles and sippy cups go OUTSIDE the bag eliminating any worry that a leak would ruin my camera or ipad. Laugh if you must but it’s no fun to hear your expensive cell phone’s battery make a sound like an egg frying because it’s soaked in juice, formula or just plain water!
To provide a sanitary surface for quick diaper changes, a changing pad comes with the bag and is stored in a special compartment on the back of the bag. And if you’re strolling, you can attach the Lotus to your baby’s stroller using the handy stroller attachments.
I predict that this baby bag would become your favorite diaper bag and maybe your favorite handbag! And if you are a photography buff like me you may just toss that old camera bag and use your Amy Michelle Lotus diaper bag to carry your camera body, extra batteries, card and extra lenses! I had my eye on one of the camera bags that look like designer purses but the Lotus works! It’s a diaper bag that looks like a designer purse that looks like a camera bag! Not that I’ll ever turn down a new handbag or even a diaper bag, but the replacement will have very big shoes to fill.
