Dragon Tales - Unique Painted Medieval Nursery Wall Mural

Dragon Nursery Wall Mural goes all the way around room. (Back wall)
After consulting several medieval art books for dragon nursery wall ideas, we transferred the art we wanted to use for the baby's room from the book to normal printer paper using a light table. We then used a basic art projector to project the drawing of the dragon nursery wall mural in the desired size.

This had to be done in several sections. While projected on the wall we traced the outline with a black marker to give us a basic "paint by number" outline.
Next there were several weeks of filling in the outline. We used basic wall paint. We tried to keep the number of colors to a minimum and used inexpensive wall paint that we bought at the discount store in quart size containers.
Once the paint colors were painted on the baby's wall we found some wide tip paint markers (available at most art stores) and outlined and detailed the entire project.
Finally to protect the whole thing we clear coated the entire room with a latex polycrylic to provide more protection and "washability"
The curtains for the nursery windows were hand painted by my mother-in-law.
You can't quite get the full picture of the entire nursery with just one photograph, but if you would like to see more pictures of the dragon mural let me know!
