Our color block baby nursery design is focused on animals since both my wife and I are veterinarians. We knew we wanted an animal themed room due to our profession and we decided early on that we would find a crib bedding set that has jungle animals like elephants, monkeys, giraffes as well as cows.


We knew that our first child was going to be a baby girl so the light purple and pastel colors featured in the baby bedding's fabric pattern were a perfect fit.

We didn't want to go over the top with "Barbie doll" decor or pink wall paint but wanted the room to be feminine.

As we were walking through Home Depot one day, we noticed that the Behr paint brand had a Disney collection with various themed rooms on display to give new parents ideas for decorating a nursery for baby.

The Winnie-The-Pooh baby room example had a fun color block pattern with colors that coordinated perfectly with our bedding set. The colors included the following paint colors: New Day Dew, Bibbidi Bobbidi Blue, Butterfly Flutter By, One Enchanted Evening, Christopher Robbins Swing and Pooh's Corner.

The actual painting of the room took about one month to complete and and numerous rolls of Frog tape to get the blocks just right. Now that our daughter has arrived, we love the way the paint job and the crib set comes together.

We have received numerous compliments on the paint job from family and friends. My wife and I find the nursery very calming and the colors used in the design of the nursery wall painting will be a great way to teach our daughter her colors.

I like the windows in this space but am particularly interested in the mirrored wall arrangements. I wondered if the decorator had the custom cut into shapes and sizes that she needed for the project or if she found them for sale as a set.
