Child Craft Legacy Crib Lower Guide Pins Parts

Child Craft Legacy Crib Lower Guide Pins Parts

I was going through an older Child Craft Legacy crib and realized a couple of the lower guide pins are missing. The instruction manual lists them as part number H00291, but I’ve misplaced some of the original paperwork and I’m not sure where to start with identifying the exact version I have.

From what I can tell, Child Craft made several variations over the years, and I’m having a hard time figuring out how to pin down the manufacture date or match it to the right parts diagram.

I did find this page while trying to sort through the different pieces and terminology, which helped a bit:

If anyone here has dealt with this model before or knows how to confirm the correct part or manufacturing details, I’d really appreciate the guidance. I’m mostly trying to make sure I’m identifying everything correctly before reaching out to the manufacturer or tracking down documentation.

If you’ve found a reliable way to look this up or have experience with these cribs, feel free to share below or leave contact info so I can follow up.

Older Child Craft Legacy crib, lower guide pins and similar hardware can be hard to sort out because Child Craft used different model numbers and part layouts over the years.

A good first step is to compare the model number and any label information you still have with the documentation on these pages:

If you still have the instruction manual and it lists the lower guide pin as part number H00291, that part number is the most useful detail to keep with you when you contact the manufacturer or compare old documentation. The manufacture date is often printed on the original label attached somewhere on the crib frame, so it may help to check the headboard, footboard, underside of the mattress support area, or any remaining product sticker.

Because these cribs can look similar while using different hardware, I would be careful about guessing or substituting parts based only on appearance.

It can also help to review general crib safety guidelines before using or reassembling any older model: crib safety guidelines for older or used cribs.

It is better to confirm the exact model and original documentation first before relying on anything that only seems close.

If anyone here has dealt with this Child Craft Legacy model before, or knows where the manufacture date is usually marked, feel free to share that information below.

Knowing your model number helps a lot when searching for spare parts for cribs. A picture of the piece helps a lot since there are usually no "kits" available and you have to order or buy one piece at a time.
