Ballerina Nursery Decor
by Tina
In addition to a pink nursery, I also wanted ballerina nursery decor with lots of pastel pink tulle decorated with roses that remind me of my favorite tutu. I wanted small touches here and there as too much would diminish the look of the baby's room rather than to enhance it.
I didn't have a real plan of how to incorporate a ballet theme into the project until I saw a DIY vanity table with a skirt.
The moment I saw the vanity and read the tutorial; I knew that I had to have one.
I found this precious little girl's vanity that I've decided to make the inspiration piece for my baby girl's room. This table will be the only item (other than my little Lori in her
baby ballerina tutu in a few months) that will be covered in pink fabric and rosebuds.
The pink tulle skirt of my vanity table is not part of any ballet collection, but to me it's perfect!
How to Make an EASY No Sew Tulle Table Skirt
The price on the vanity that I bought was relatively reasonable. So reasonable, in fact, that I decided against using
THIS tutorial to make a vanity skirt for the baby's nursery even though the instructions are super easy.
The supply list for this no-sew DIY project is very basic.
- A tape measure
- Yards and yards of tulle so the skirt will be full and fluffy
- Craft scissors
- Satin ribbon or fabric-covered elastic to secure the fabric
- A metal safety Pin
I have that video bookmarked because I might want to make a no-sew tulle table skirt for a dessert table for my baby girl's birthday party or if I hostess a baby shower for a friend in the future.
The vanity set is relatively inexpensive to buy or to make and as it will work just as well with her big girl
ballerina bedding as it does with her crib set; I will get my money's worth. I believe that keeping the theme of the space intact beyond her crib will save money in the long run.
I was so excited about finding this darling piece of furniture that I just had to share it with
